Rebase: Activate presents a collection of works from four artists interested in revealing the relationships between perceived patterns and sonic activation. The works focus on physical manifestations of sound––through vibration and movement––rejecting the belief that sound is ephemeral or intangible. The artists ask similar questions related to relaying data and information via sound, and explore how sound is an important communication tool. The Beall Center for Art + Technology will be closed to the public starting May 28, 2018, until September 29, 2018. Please join us for the opening reception for R. Luke DuBois' solo exhibition, "Music into Data::Data into Music," on September 29th, 2-5pm. During this time, the center runs its annual STEAM Summer Camps for kids ages 8-19, and does not have exhibitions on view. Administrative offices remain open during this time, and can be reached at 949-824-6206, or by emailing beallcenter@uci.edu.
