With the increased focus on STEAM education (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics), how are current K-12 and collegiate students processing ideas about creativity, collaboration, interdisciplinary study, and innovative careers?

Under the guidance of Ph.D. researcher and UC Irvine faculty member, Viet Vu, this discussion will address the many perspectives about the impact of STEAM education on long-term learning and how we are beginning to identify its effectiveness. The panel will also address assessment strategies, and observations at the university level - as many of the first "STEAM-based students" are beginning to attend college - as well as within K-12 classrooms. Speakers from UC Irvine and STEAM-based organizations will present their experiences and findings. A full speaker list will be announced prior to the event.

The Beall Center for Art + Technology is proud to present this event in collaboration with our LASER Talk series partners: UCI Cove, Laguna Art Museum, and Leonardo Isast. Light refreshments and snacks will be served.

This event is FREE and open to the public with registration on EventBrite.
