Listener 1 is interactive three-dimensional computer software that listens to sound in the world and visualizes it. Listener 1 is the first prototype to explore an esthetic balance amongst temporal flow of sonic information, movements (animation), and human-computer interaction.

So Yamaoka has received B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Aizu, Japan. He is currently pursuing an M.S. in Information and Computer Science / ACE concentration at UC, Irvine. His primary research interest is visual music and music-driven animation.
